As most of you may know, not only are Ron and I innkeepers at The Mill House, we also have a small home business called, “Joyful Confections”. Joyful Confections was born out of a simple scone recipe and a burden for babies and mothers in Mali, W Africa.
Last year, Ron and I spent 40 days fasting and praying in order to get wisdom from God for what direction He wanted us to take Joyful Confections. We both came to the conclusion that God wanted us to give all of our profits from “Joyful Confections” to Koutiala Hospital in Mali. The following link will give you lots of information on the ministry at Koutiala. http://www.koutialahospital.org/
I just learned that 200 woman are served at the hospital each month, and 150 babies are born. Many babies die due to lack of care and lack of resources. Koutiala offers not only the technology and medical care they need, but the hands and feet of Christ through the missionary doctors and nurses, and through the nationals who are following Christ and trained as doctors and nurses. In recent months, you may have read or seen news reports on Mali. Insurgents from Muslim radical groups have been infiltrating northern Mali and now have moved to the southern portion of the country. From the latest report I have gotten from my friend, Lesley, whose husband goes to Mali to serve, the missionaries have been given the choice to return to Mali or be reassigned. Thank God for the nationals who are keeping the hospital running and therefore still spreading the good news of Jesus. Prayers for them and also for the missionaries who have decided to return to Mali would be greatly appreciated.
Along with the desire to give our profits, we have also decided to focus the fudge portion of “Joyful Confections” on fundraising. We are excited to report we have just recently completed our first fundraiser with the director of the Perrysburg High School Orchestra. They have a small group of students going to England and were raising funds.
Fundraising with Fudge is simple, easy, and very lucrative for raising funds for mission trips, school groups, not for profit organizations etc. The product is locally made, delicious, affordable priced, and its a win- win for both the organization and Koutiala Hospital. We love to talk about our fudge and our ministry to the babies and moms in Mali! Give us a call at 419-832-6455 or email us at munkster@roadrunner.com. We’ll tell you all about it!
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Luke 6:38
