Grand Rapids Applebutter Festival, 2010 is officially in the record books. Record temperature and crowds made for an eventful day. The Mill House was full and scones and cookies were purchased. The picture above is of the “Joyful Confections” crew. Lots of baking, packaging and selling for one day!

Open for business early in the morning, our favorite scone lovers from “Dandy’s Lane” a unique gift shop in Grand Rapids, stop for their morning scone fix.

The local high school athletic boosters set up right outside The Mill House. They start their Bean Soup at 3:30am and sell buffalo burgers along with the soup.

Our friend and “handyman” around the inn, Will and his dog Auggie, stop to say hello! Our own inndog, Ruby, spends the Applebutter Fest at their house so she doesn’t have to deal with the crowds!

Alongside The Mill House backyard is a display of old farm equipment, this picture just gives an idea of the early morning crowd. The Grand Rapids Applebutter Fest is held the second Sunday of October each year. Crowds swell to up to 50,000. We haven’t heard the official count yet, but we have heard rumors is was a record. Next year The Applebutter Fest will be celebrating 35 years.
