Ron and I had the pleasure of serving such wonderful guests this past weekend. Ben and Kimberly were here for 3 nights celebrating their second wedding anniversary. As Ron helped serve breakfast on Saturday morning, Ben asked if I would adopt him so he could live here and try out new recipes. So I decided to try out a new recipe for Sunday morning breakfast. This berry cream sauce over Belgium waffles was a hit!! As Ron said, “The guests just scarfed it up!”
So I decided to share this with my blog followers!! Enjoy!!
Berry Cream Sauce
1 1/2 cups fresh raspberries, blackberries, blueberries or a mixture
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 carton (6 oz ) orange creme yogurt
1 tablespoon lime juice ( use fresh lime)
1/2 teas grated lime peel
1/2 teas vanilla extract
pinch of salt
In small bowl combine sour cream, and powdered sugar until smooth. Stir in yogurt, lime juice, lime peel, vanilla, and salt.
Spoon over waffles and add mixed berries on top.
I was also able to make a sugar free version for a guest. I used 2-3 tables splenda, and the sugar free yogurt. It was delicious!!
This sauce is also wonderful as a filling for crepes!!
I am pretty sure this will become one of future guests favorites at The Mill House breakfast table!!
Have a blessed week!
This is the day that the Lord has made…Let us rejoice and be glad in it!!
