Is it Spring yet? Being located in Northwest Ohio can be so confusing. We can actually experience several seasons in one day. Cold frost and snow in the morning, sunny and warm the same afternoon. This year has been no exception. April has finally arrived and we are just seeing signs of spring flowers, whose tips are browned from the cold temperatures and light snow. Sitting inside you are excited to see the sun shining warmly on the river, but when you step outside, the air is chilled from the cold wind.
The good news is that soon the sun will be warming the earth, plants will be blooming, birds chirping, and our outdoor furniture will once again be out on our riverside patio, anticipating guests enjoying the view of the river and gardens.
Grand Rapids is becoming more and more a destination place with all the shops, restaurants, and art galleries. It’s a great place to get close to nature. Walking, kayaking, and bicycling our close by trails and the Maumee River. We even have a bald eagle family building a nest in one of the small islands on the river.
We’re noticing more geese pairing up on the tow path. I love seeing them, but you have to be careful where you are walking!
Here’s a sneak peek to the newest addition to Grand Rapids! The Wild Side Brewery is located just a few minute walk from our front door. We’ll be highlighting it along with many other fun places to enjoy in Grand Rapids and the surrounding area.
Make your reservations soon so you can have a grand time in Grand Rapids and experience the hospitality at The Mill House Bed and Breakfast!
