I’ve always been a holiday purist, and it goes against all that I am to write about Christmas before Thanksgiving! But with the village ushering in the holiday season with their annual Christmas Open House, I had no choice but to realize that if you can’t beat ’em….join ’em!
So with the help of my wonderful husband and co-innkeeper and my super duper friend, Sue, The Mill House is ready for Christmas.

The newest addition to the outdoor decorations are two Moravian Stars, greeting our guests at the front door. After several days of finding just the right extension cords and adaptors, we finally had the official lighting of The Mill House decorations.

Christmas Open House in Grand Rapids includes ice carving every day in Lincoln Park. Even with the warmer temperatures, “Good Ole St. Nick” made a chilly appearance.

My favorite part of Christmas Open House in Grand Rapids are the return guests. Breakfast is always an event at The Mill House and to reunite with “Old Friends” aka return guests, makes it a really special weekend for all.
