I love small towns. There is just something special and comforting in the atmosphere and yearly events that remind us of those who came before us. Memorial Day is the perfect day in a small town like Grand Rapids, Ohio. We’re just a town of 1,000 residents, but full of memories of those who settled and came before us.
The weekend of Memorial day, we had a family from Tampa, Florida coming to celebrate the memorial of a loved one who had passed away. They were able to enjoy their time at The Mill House and remember their loved one. How fitting that it was Memorial Day weekend. On Memorial Day each year, there is a small parade that works it’s way down to a village park where a ceremony is held.
Below is some pictures of our veterans parading in front of The Mill House along with firetrucks, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts.
You never know what you’ll see in Grand Rapids, what event might be happening, or who you may meet. But you’ll love our small town atmosphere, history, and the wonderful people that call Grand Rapids home.
Grace and Peace,
Kathy
