EVERY MONTH IS PASTOR APPRECIATION MONTH!
In the Gospel of Mark chapter 6, Jesus said ” Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile”. He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat. Mark 6:31 NLT
Good chance that same issue exists today. With so many pastors being bi-vocational, they most likely have very little time for themselves, or for their spouses and families. After spending time in their full-time jobs, they go home to the messages from the congregations that need their immediate attention. In this instantaneous wired environment, the expectations are overwhelming. The expectations can be the same for those pastors that are in full-time ministry as well. Ignoring the need for rest can result in a multitude of bad outcomes. Broken marriages, rebellious children, and ministry burnout are just a few examples.
Also, time may not be the only reason for not “getting away” for rest. Some pastors may not have the finances to support the expenses even at reduced prices. The cost of meals, gas, and babysitting may not be affordable within their budget.
In 2005, God placed the burden upon our hearts for pastors and their spouses. Our vision was to provide a place of respite where pastors and their spouses could reconnect in a quiet environment. Through God’s hand, he provided The Mill House Bed and Breakfast to us to provide this service to his faithful and weary servants.
For our pastors and missionaries, we offer a discounted room rate of $85. This is available for any of our rooms. The discounted pastor rate can be received through our on-line reservation system by clicking the pastor promo button. We will ask for validation upon your arrival. A business card, church bulletin, etc. will be adequate.
For our congregational brothers and sisters, we make this appeal. Be generous with your pastors throughout the year. Make it possible for them to get rest. Please keep in mind the whole experience. Consider meals, gas, and babysitting money when you bless your pastor.
