The Mill House is the perfect setting for a ladies weekend. It is such a blessing to host a group of friends who have kept in touch for many years. Part of the fun of innkeeping is providing a great place for friends to gather for a few days, reminisce about the good old days, shop for special trinkets and treasures, and last but not least….eat lots of good food and forget about the calories!!
The Mill House hosted a group of eight ladies from the Columbus, Ohio area this weekend.
Saturday night happened to be “Trick or Treat” night in Grand Rapids, so the ladies enjoyed the parade of ghosts, goblins, princesses, and pirates as they marched up and down Front Street in Grand Rapids. The ladies enjoyed watching the parade as they had a wonderful dinner at La Roe’s. ( Where the staff nicknamed them “The Mill House Eight”)
Ron and I had to attend a wedding on Saturday night, so the ladies kept an eye out for any trick- or- treaters that may have knocked on our door. Good thing I had popcorn balls and bags of chips available in the common room. They made good treats and the ladies protected us from any “tricks”!!
Before departing on Sunday morning, they asked to have their picture taken on our front porch. They are holding the article on The Mill House that was published in the Columbus Dispatch in October of 2007. They are hoping to email it to the paper to see if they will publish their picture on the travel page!! We sure hope you get your picture in the paper and we can’t wait to host you all again!!
